BETAFIX ALG

BETAFIX ALG is the new elastic haemostatic effect fistula bandage consisting of a multilayer calcium alginate based pad. BETAFIX ALG it is particularly indicated in patients who bleed profusely, haemostasis problems or coagulation difficulties such as post-dialysis medication or after intravenous treatments or transfusions.

The special function of the BETAFIX ALG bandage is based on its double haemostatic action that is exerted mechanically by the compression of the bandage and exerted chemically by the calcium alginate, which in contact with exudate creates a soft gel that keeps the healing environment moist and allows calcium ions to pass into the wound thereby promoting platelet aggregation.
